Disaster Relief
We are working to put together a national Disaster Relief Planning Committee that would work with the local organizations to provide immediate and long-term relief to our beloved island in the sun in the event of a national disaster or emergency. By forming a Disaster Relief Committee within your organization we will be able to act swiftly should the need arise.
Get Involved
- Start a Disaster Relief Committee with your local organization
- Raise funds to be used in case of a disaster in Barbados
- Create a directory of resources and organizations that will be helpful during the time of a disaster
- Have a member of your local Disaster Relief Committee serve on the national committee.
Contact different organizations to determine how best you would be able to assist in a disaster. Organizations in the South East might be better served by shipping supplies. Organizations further away on the West Coast might be most helpful by donating funds. You might want to sponsor a Barbados organization that does great on the ground work so that in the event of an emergency they can continue to provide services. You can also fundraise to create and ship first-aid and emergency kits to schools, churches, or the elderly. These are just a few suggestions as to how to structure your disaster relief efforts.
